The Secondary Education Board derives its mandate from the National Secondary Education Commission Act No. 47 of 1999. Part V of the Act deals with the Establishment of State Secondary Education Boards inclusive of an FCT Secondary Education Board. Its creation in 2004 was to achieve more effective and efficient management of senior secondary schools in the FCT
Vision
To provide and sustain qualitative senior secondary education which prepares FCT children between ages 15 and 18 years for purposeful life including pursuit of higher education in accordance with their intellectual endowments.
Mission
To serve as a strategic vehicle for the provisions and management of accessible and affordable education in the FCT public senior secondary Schools
