The desire to have reliable and accurate data for education policy making, planning and major decision making has always been the driving force behind data collection and management in education.

It has been observed for some time now that the ASC instruments were always poorly filled and this were emanating from poor school record keeping. It was therefore necessary to address the problem right from the source, where the data is gathered and transferred into the ASC forms. Hence the decision to train the main stake holders who are in charge of daily collection and processing of data in schools.

The training started with a two-day master trainer workshop on Friday 24th and Monday 27th November, 2017 at the FCT Education Resource Centre (ERC) Committee Room 1, for officers of the Education Secretariat. Senior Staff of the Federal Ministry of Education trained the officers of the Education Secretariat as master trainers, who in turn would train the school heads and data desk officers in the Six Area Councils for two days each (Tuesday 28th November – Monday 4th December, 2017).
